Hey there, I’m also from Ontario. I know what you’re going through. I started the process July 2020 and my surgery is in two weeks. In December, I got delayed by two months because my vitamin levels were too low - I had to supplement up for eight weeks and then do more blood work before they would sign off. I was super bummed, said exactly what you’re saying - I just want to get this done, and now I have to wait TWO extra months?? It sucks. The good news is, two months out of your whole life is a drop in the bucket. And the more you get a handle on food-related things now, the easier time you will have and the more successful you will be after. Have yourself a pity party for a day if you need it, but then take this time to learn more about yourself and what you need and want. It’s gonna fly by, and you’ll be so much better off for it.

Hey hang in there. Sounds like you’re sooo close, you’re on your way. As for me I honestly wish I made the decision last year to start the wls process. My physician just referred me today so I’m sure I’ll be waiting many months for that 1st appointment. Are any of your appointments done virtually due to Covid

SirDiscombobulated47

Yes everything is virtual except for the surgeon appointment!

Fabulous_Key893

Yes I’m looking forward to the process. Just. Got my doctor to refer me last week. I hope the virtual appointments will work in my favour and speed up the process

I am in Ontario as well, going through st. Joe's clinic in Hamilton. I have had some issues getting approved, the psychologist and I didn't see eye to eye and it was a really alarming experience. I'm on my way to be approved now, but this has pushed my dates back quite a bit -- I was originally referred in sept 2020, and now I have pre op appts scheduled into late June. I'm not getting this done in the summer I refuse to waste any time in the summer recovering from surgery-- there are too many rivers to canoe and too many trails to hike to be recovering) so I probably will be done in sept 2021. If the dietician delayed you, I would just work to do the things she is asking you to do. The requirements are there for a reason, because you have to be able to follow a dieticians advice or you could have a hard time after. What did she say you needed to change?

Dietician prob wants to milk their services with you.

BluejayElegant7

That's not how it works in Ontario, the dietician is paid a salary by the hospital/clinic so whether or not op is approved or sees the dietician a bunch of times has nothing to do with how much they are paid.
