Found the Miami showroom today and was blown away by the car. (With pictures)

I also forgot to mention it, but I bought a hat and was asked twice in the hour I was out about the company.
Thanks for the pictures! They look gorgeous.
The prototype I saw in San Jose didn't look as production ready as this one. Did you get the chance to interact with the UI, buttons, etc.?
I didn’t really get the chance to interact with the UI. I did however get to use one of little slider thingys in the middle though (the volume control). It felt good, however not perfect. It felt a little stickier than I would prefer, but still usable. There was also no sound when you rotated it, which I would also like.
It’s still a pre-production vehicle though, so that may not be the same in the production units.
That looks amazing! Need the stock to skyrocket to afford one but man if it does I will be a buyer!
While I’m not saying the car isn’t great, I also feel that I need to give some financial advice here.
Now while I don’t know your financial situation, remember that the general rule is that if you can’t buy something 4 times over, then don’t buy it. Cars are one of the fastest depreciating assets so while you may have made a ton on the stock, you are going to lose almost all of that money within 5 years of owning the new car.
If you can’t buy 4 Lucid Airs then I would suggest you put your money into something that will work for you like a house or other stocks. Later down the road you can take that money and buy that Lucid Air.
Once again though, I don’t know your financial situation, so this is just general advice.
I want to buy a hat
2 concerns based on your pics:
I wonder if there's a fingerprint login instead of just face and manual. And I'd hope manual login isn't tedious and frequent.
I also wonder how well that glass roof keeps the heat of the sun's rays out.
The motortrend drive was in serious sun and seemed to deal with it fine.
I asked about the roof, considering that is pretty important in Miami, and the salesperson said it should be good with the sun.
In person, it seemed to have a very strong tint on it, so I wouldn’t doubt it’s ability to keep out the heat.
Also, I would doubt that either of the two options for logins are actually required. On all the other cars I’ve driven, it’s always been an option to login.
They actually let you sit in it? I didn’t get that chance so maybe yours is a near delivery or delivery ready car.
It could be. It definitely felt like a finished car, so I wouldn’t really doubt it.
I am so glad people have started appreciating Lucid Air.
There have been a lot of nay sayers especially from Tesla enthusiasts.
Truth always comes out, like you can't hide fire too long.
Ultimately, if the car is good, Tesla people will like it. There have just been quite a large amount of supposed competitors that just didn't come close such as the Bolt, E-Tron, ID.4, etc.
That is true, I agree.
However the Lucid Air has been test driven by MotorTrend and with all the details, if one still wants to wait for their approval, it is sad.
Those are the hardcore naysayers no mater what, their baby is the most beautiful one in the world.
It could be for them but not for others.
I’m definitely going to wait for independent journalists and YouTubers using production vehicles before forming any firm opinion.
Nothing wrong with it.
Some like more proof than others.
Believe me, you will definitely appreciate Lucid's excellence.
After Sep 28th Lucid Event every one will find out a whole lot of information from media release of videos and comments on Lucid Air Dream Edition. I will be also there and will have an opportunity test drive the dream edition on 28th.
Yeah, just wait for min 2, even 3 yrs. What’s the rush? Let’em work out the kinks. In the mean time you can drive a jalopy, save even more dough, buy more LCID.
If lucid starts making rocket-ships will we see 600 too?
I don't know when Lucid will start making rocket ships.
As soon as their announcement, your question sure will have plenty of answers.
Anyone else bothered the main screen is broken up into 3 sections? Why not one long fluid screen like the EQS or Kia EV6? It seems dated, like something from 2018.
Did you just mention Kia and Lucid in the same sentence? Kia is a plastic POS and is in my opinion unsafe at any speed. 15 mile per hour crash my sister in law rear ended the car in front of her and the engine bolts broke and shifted the engine 7 inches into the cab. Those bolts are supposed to survive 35 mph crashes before moving. Kia should not be in anyone’s driveway or on any American road!
Second no, the three screen cockpit with looks nothing like anything in 2018, doesn’t bother me. I actually think it breaks up your eye line so you can better use the gauges
7 inches is 17.78 cm
Must have been a Kia from the 90s. Hyundai and Kia have upped their quality significantly since the 90s and no longer cheap econoboxes. The Telluride is well in the $50k range and dealers are marking them up by the thousands. Can't find them anywhere. They make solid quality cars.
Negative. They make nice looking cheap material interiors but mechanically they are still shit cars. Been in the new telluride and it’s nice looking but cheap feeling. My neighbor has one and his screen fails to turn on at least once a month. Dealer refuses to replace it under warranty.
I talked to the design director about this. The side screens are touch but the middle one isn’t a touch screen. It’s there so people don’t think it’s an entire touch screen and stick their hands through the steering wheel.
It's because it really is an old design just not making it to production until now.
That’s not true.
Some of the fancy features like automatic opening doors probably won’t be there for lower trims (that I might be able to afford)..
Yeah. I didn’t ask too much about the difference between the trims.
The one difference that the salesperson mentioned was that the roof on the lower trims (Pure and Touring) is aluminum and not glass, however it should be able to be upgraded (at least on the touring).
The doors also only do electric closing, not opening.
I'm guessing that's what that accordion-covered thing is crossing space in the lower-front edge of the door. It'd be a terrible spot to put wiring, and I notice there's a gap around it, but if that's covering a door closing chain or cable of some sort, it'd make more sense.
That’s my guess too. The salesperson also let me know that it is a preproduction unit though, so some of the wiring spots and stuff may be different in production modkes
Also I was told that the auto trunk/frunk open might not be available for Pure, FYI.
For Touring/Pure likely the details will be revealed later, like Q1-Q2 next year, I guess..
And not on production cars currently.
Cool they let you sit in it. The one here in phx (showroom in scottsdale mall) I'm surprised they let us even look at.. Was kind of annoyed they'd go through the trouble of even having one there when they barely wanted to open a door to let you look in it. Some guy put his hand on the roof to lean in and they about had a fuckin conniption
Yeah precisely here in Scottsdale at the fashion square they don't let you sit in
That’s insane. If they want to sell a car then they have to at least let people sit in it.
This one does look really close to production level. I've been able to see some of the pre-production cars up close and most haven't looked nearly this good. Definitely excited for the production cars to start rolling out.
This one honestly felt like a production car. There were a few small things like the center console not opening, but that was it.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing with us!
I’m assuming you meant to reply to another comment?
Did you ask for delivery dates?
I ordered my Touring at the Scottsdale opening, can't wait to get it...
