One last goodbye. I finished Clone Wars for the first time last month and finally got around to making my digitally painted tribute to Victory and Death.

Ahsoka is such an amazing character in the series. I really loved how she evolved during the series, from the little annoying into the lovable character with so much depth. See the friendship between these clones and Jedi also makes this series so amazing and fills a huge void in the prequels.

tinman888

Yeah, I always liked the setting of the prequels, so watching this show was certainly a treat. Great to see that Ahsoka is getting her own live-action show too, I'm sure it's Filoni's dream come true.

WokeLib420

I wish I loved Asoka as much as you guys. Maybe I need to try rewatching the clone wars. It's been a long time. I just always thought she was a little boring. But maybe I was just a dumb kid.

therealbragdoll

Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions, that doesn't make you dumb. I thought she was really annoying in the beginning, to eager to prove herself. But the character she grows into, I really love that character. Especially after she left the jedi order. She went fra young, annoying and to eager in the start of the show, to being this wise, calm and loving character.

Krobee

I love how Rex actually looks like Temura Morrison!!

AnxietySpecialist02

Great drawing but ahsoka seems a bit too old in my opinion

tinman888

I based it off Rosario Dawson and surprisingly she looks almost the same now as she did when she was 18 so I was definitely struggling to capture that

partboozie

That was my first thought, too. Amazing overall tho.

BUTTHOLE-MAGIC

Lol she looks like Obama

mossrock71

This is really beautiful! Great details! I'm an artist myself but I can't paint that well in my opinion! Really nice work!

tinman888

Thank you! And everybody starts somewhere with art, the more you make the better you'll get :) Plus there are tons of great resources available online these days!

Oraukk

Congrats on finishing an amazing series. If you loved The Clone Wars to make art out of it the. You really HAVE to watch the shows The Bad Batch (airing now) and Rebels (4 seasons). God, I love Star Wars animation

tinman888

No worries I'm just about done Rebels and also keeping up with Bad Batch. Rebels is quite enjoyable I must say, though the first season was pretty rough. After that though I've been flying through it

Morganmaster

In all honesty i cried when i heard the final piece of music of the clone wars. It was awesome

Comprehensive-Tie431

So how was the show for you?

tinman888

Loved it. Even the rough patches were enjoyable in some capacity, though I admit I skipped many a jar jar episode

Comprehensive-Tie431

Gald to see. Yea season 1 and 2 were....oof. But got way better. I envy you so much for watching and finishing the show for the first time. Yea a lot of Jar Jar and filler. But glad to see you loved it.

cappucinojones

I feel comfortable saying these are my two favorite characters in all the Star Wars universe. I’m so happy to see how they were expanded upon and to watch how they each grew into the character they are currently. That being said, I’m still a little salty at how they decided to split up. Maybe I’m biased but I just feel like the decision to separate them did t make sense to me.

yosmop

I like this, but they look so old, ahsoka looks like she does in the Mando and with rex.. something just just seems off with him

tinman888

I based Ahsoka in this on Rosario who surprisingly looked almost the same when she was younger if you can believe it. I tried to get Rex to look as close to Jango from episode 2, who I think was 40 at the time. Could also be the bleach blond hair lol

detectiveDollar

Rex was only 26 biological years old by the end of the war btw.

tinman888

Huh. I just assumed that since Temuera played them in the films that they just rapid aged to around where he was. Thanks for the tip!

detectiveDollar

Yeah, it's a bit odd they didn't deage him when playing clones since they did double aging. Bobas actor was about 14 around filming and was one of the first clones so the modified Clones would look twice his age, but we know in canon the Syfo Dyas stuff was after The Phantom Menace which was only 10 years before episode 2 (we know from the movie itself). So the oldest Clones would be 20 at most and Boba should be 10 at most. So by the end of the war the first batch would be like 26. Unless originally Syfo Dyas was gonna be before the prequels started.

Professional_Gas4737

I was wrong to dislike Ahsoka since the first season and she grew on me…

Ready_Wall_8295

I love how Rex even has the wrinkles on his forehead that indicate him being a first gen clone.

Shadd76

I have 3 episodes left of the last season and I can't bring myself to watch them. If I keep putting it off, then it doesn't end right? Right?

DarthSomething05

Have you watched any of the other animated shows?

tinman888

Yep I actually just finished rebels and really liked it! I'm all caught up now I think, ready for all the new shows coming up

DarthSomething05

Nice! I would also recommend watching The Bad Batch (if you haven’t already)

nlasovich

Great work!

RaddialFox

Its a nice drawing, but I feel like the characterization is all wrong.

tinman888

You know, I thought a bit about that, but I think with all that happened I think there would be a short moment before leaving the grave site where the two of them would sort of break for a minute. Just my interpretation.

RaddialFox

Oh thats fine. Like I said, its great art, and don’t let my opinion take anything away from it. If it were me, I would have felt like Rex would be the one overwhelmed with his emotions of losing his brothers, where as Ashoka used to be a Jedi, so maybe upset, but not quite this visually emotional. Thats just my stupid opinion. Keep up the good work!

tinman888

No not stupid at all! I was thinking more than the clones Ahsoka would still be reeling from the Jedi all over the Galaxy being killed. She's not part of the order but I imagine she can still connect with them through the force.

scrodytheroadie

Agree. Seeing Ahsoka as the sad damsel while Rex is stoic and brave doesn't feel right at all. Ahsoka would be the one to hold it together, if anything.

nonoman12

She literally tries to be formal and then ends up hugging him like a little girl in Rebels. Ahsoka is not above that kind of emotion, she just does well to hide it most of the time.

scrodytheroadie

You're right, and I'm not trying to say she's devoid of emotion. She's shown it plenty. Just knowing this scene, what she's just been through, how she handled it...it just gives off an odd damsel in distress, leaning on the strong hero vibe. Not really the same as an excited greeting, if that makes any sense. I don't know, just my interpretation.

tinman888

Sorry that was definitely not my intention, I know that Ahsoka is far from a damsel. More that they're both having an emotional moment as they realize the totality of the situation. I chose the pose for Ahsoka because in the end she's still a kid (17 I think?) Which granted is older than Rex but yeah I never wanted it to seem like she was weaker than Rex or anything

scrodytheroadie

Ha, no need to apologize to me! It's a great piece and manages to bring back all of the emotion of that sequence of events.

[deleted]

Really good, Rex has a huge head and his torso is angled a little awkwardly in proportion to where his legs and head are facing. But really really good, definitely couldn’t produce something of this quality.

tinman888

Thank you for the feedback!

TrickTelevision0

This is really emotionally powerful and beautiful work! Fantastic job!
