I like this concept. Nice and simple, no obnoxious entities, and very visually creative. Did you render these images yourself? If so, what program did you use? If not, where are they from?

PrinceOfHungary

Thanks! It's actually real, not rendered. There's an artist named Yayoi Kusama who designs rooms as art pieces. She's most well known from some of those infinity rooms you may have seen people take pictures of/in (mirrors lining the walls, ceilings, and floors surrounding the designs/features). This one is called the "Obliteration Room."

MovingCogger

Cool, thanks for the info on the artist. I'll check out more of her work.

DylanOfTheWell

At a lot of her exhibitions they did these Obliteration Rooms, and when you the observer walked through, they gave you a few colored stickers to place around as you chose. Interactive art!

ostiDeCalisse

I love her work!

OfficialDampSquid

This, or at least a room like it, was at the Queensland museum of modern art, it started as an all white room and you could buy sheets of stickers to go in and place where you like, it looked exactly like this.

ViviTheWaffle

Came to say I was there about ten years ago - but I think the installation has been done elsewhere as well

lil_deezer101

This is a Good post.

PrinceOfHungary

Thanks!

Chazzey_dude

Such a powerful and vivid description that leaves me so unsettled yet curious. This is why I come here

tractiv

The idea of the room being quiet and white at first and then gradually becoming unsettling to unbearable reminds me so much of the fever dreams I used to have as a child. In my dream I was in an empty space with one little drop of water dripping down from time to time in the center. As time passed slowly but surely the drop would become bigger and bigger, the intervals between the dripping became shorter and the noise it would make when hitting the ground would become louder. At some point the dripping was so fast it was unbearably loud and even moved unrealistically fast. But the drop was so big I couldn’t escape it. My brain felt like it was exploding and I would wake up in extreme panic. Even though it was very scary I enjoy those memories. Thanks for bringing them back!
