I thought this was way bigger than it is.

eiscego

Glad I'm not alone lol

MetricAbsinthe

The pot holder lines up well enough with the table legs, my first reaction was that it took up the whole table until I saw the hand and the actual perspective of the photo settled in.

Ugalde73

Lol 👌🏾

How do you know this person doesn’t have giant hands

AdvancedAdvance

The longer you hold your loaf under that hot light, the closer it will come to cracking and ultimately confessing to those homicides.

AlwaysAngryFox

It buttered all those buns to death?

funforfun69a

That is a good looking loaf

bade_meow

Thicc, just as I like it.

Affectionate_Map_530

I loaf it

nemom

Come on... You can do butter than that.

ounuoxun

It' s really the best.

creamyspoon

Did you pinch it?

YourItchyScalp

I’d smack that loaf real good

Landshark7

What's the recipe? Looks fantastic!

AlwaysAngryFox

1 packet of yeast 2 1/4 cup of warm water (not too hot or you’ll kill the yeast. Add a little sugar to it to give a snack) After your yeast blooms (about 5 to 10 minutes) add the following - 1 Tablespoon salt - 2 Tablespoons oil (vegetable or oil or whatever) - 1/4 cup sugar Mix together then slowly add your flour one cup at a time. You’ll need 6 1/2 cups of flour. (You can use bread flour or all purpose flour) Knead the dough for about 7 minutes. I usually knead for at least 8 minutes. After that oil a bowl, put in the dough(give it a little roll in the oil) and cover it with plastic wrap. Leave it for one hour or till the dough has doubled in size. Gently punch down and knead for 1 minute. Roll into a ball, cut in half and shape your loaf by rolling the dough out (Horizontal) and then rolling it over onto its self. Pinch the seam so it doesn’t come loose. Place into a well oiled loaf pan with the seam side down, cover with more plastic wrap and let it rise for another hour. While it is rising, preheat the oven to 375. Once the dough has risen, sprinkle a little flour on top. Using a bread knife score the bread by making two slashes. You can also make one slash vertically but I prefer making two marks. Place in the oven for 30 minutes. You’ll know the bread is done when the top has browned and sounds hollow when you knock on it. Remove the bread from the oven, brush with butter or oil and enjoy! This recipe makes two loafs of bread so you can freeze one for later. Just wrap or seal it and bring to room temperature when ready to eat.

rrjpinter

You know…..bread.

Dbjfdb

I use almost the exact same recipe! Some differences for you to consider trying: - Throw a tablespoon of rosemary in with the first flour you add. - after first rise I don’t punch it down anymore. I’ll gently empty the dough onto a well-floured surface, sprinkle flour over the top, and gently cut the dough in half and put them into pans seam-side down - sometimes I’ll then pinch the tops to make little waves of extra crust once baked.

AlwaysAngryFox

I haven’t tried rosemary. Fresh rosemary?

Dbjfdb

I’ve used both fresh and dried and liked them both.

AlwaysAngryFox

I will try that next time! It sounds delicious!

Dbjfdb

It’s weirdly fun to bake bread. I often do two batches at once as it’s not really double the work and my second batch is one I’ll experiment with. Leave it in longer, add different spices (pepper was nice but it made the bread look a little moldy), kneed it longer, use more sugar, etc. Once you’ve got your oven times dialed in go nuts.

AlwaysAngryFox

My favorite part is when my yeast blooms! It gives me goosebumps to look into the bowl and see my yeast feasting on the sugar.

Landshark7

Thanks. Is the bread dense or light and airy?

AlwaysAngryFox

Its light. If the bread is dense, you didn’t knead it enough. Make sure you properly knead it for the full 7 minutes. I always push it to 8 or even 10 minutes to make sure.

Landshark7

Thanks. I'm looking for a recipe similar to Grandma Sycamores bread, if you're familiar with that.

AlwaysAngryFox

I haven’t tried that one. I’ll look it up!

WazWaz

> 1/4 cup sugar That's cake, not bread.

NoCalorieWater

This is a handsome loaf of bread!

Stepside79

Nicely done! I want it in my mouth.

AlwaysAngryFox

Say ah

parabostonian

Beautiful

Affectionate_One7788

Looks great!

pm_your_masterpiece

give it a few minutes in the oven after you take it out of the pan to toast the sides and bottom, 5 minutes should be great. nice job!

cariouslesion

Fucking awesome. Looks great. I'd love to get into bread making. I just made my first four jars of home grown pickles. Felt great.

AlwaysAngryFox

Ooo I haven’t made pickles in awhile now.

Dbjfdb

I am not known for my food, so making bread is fun and smells like success and it’s a good casual gift to bring when visiting someone.

[deleted]

Nice loaf

GenetikaliWeird

Now I gotta make some bread.

piffer76

Need a follow up picture of a slice after it has reached room temperature. ;) I made a bread that looked great, until I started cutting the damn concrete brick...

VadeGames

That’s a real beaut!

dink88

I'm sure the folks over at r/confusingperspective would loaf this!

puthathingbackWICF

If you look closely at the dark void of the open door, there is an ever so faint outline of a figure with black eyes staring, MENACINGLY! Drop the loaf and run for your life! Pray the demon has a taste for bread and not human flesh.

AlwaysAngryFox

It can have the second loaf.

kitjen

This is what I like to see on /r/pics: it's ok to say "here's something I am proud of" without adding some backstory to boost the karma. It looks great.

readoldbooks

Thats a great loaf

Shadowslipping

Thumbnail made me think I was getting a catloaf payoff for clicking. Still though, not disappointed.

Vodetech

Some nice bread you conjured there!

Never_Free_Never_Me

There's something divine about it

Br4veSirRobin

Perfection! I baked for a living when I was young.

zombiegurl1965

Lovely, there is noting in the world like the smell and the first slice of warm bread straight out of the oven!!

ljg1986

From the thumbnail I initially thought this was a cat curled up in some kind of container.

BiatchaPlease

Was expecting cat. Not disappointed.

t0getheralone

I have that exact same pot holder lol

AlwaysAngryFox

Its a good pot holder

[deleted]
