Flags With Wavy Waters Motif
By - AccessTheMainframe
I don't know what to call this, but "wavy water motif" seems to fit the bill. It seems to be popular in the UK and Canada, however it appears in some other places as well.
If anyone knows any others be sure to post them. I just remembered [Leningrad Oblast](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/66/Flag_of_Leningrad_Oblast.svg/2560px-Flag_of_Leningrad_Oblast.svg.png) uses a permutation of the motif, but I only remembered immediately after posting lol.

In heraldic terms, a horizontal line is a fess. A fess wavy would be what you see on these flags. An even number of fess wavies can be described as a barry wavy, as per Greater London's Coat of Arms (which the flag is based on):
>Barry wavy Argent and Azure on a Chief Gules a Saxon Crown Or.
That blue at the bottom of the Latvian flag might not count as a fess, though.
A fountain, however, is specifically in a roundel (circle) so none of these flags have one.
But we're vexillologists. Just call it a wave.
