After running 20 miles a week for 1.5 months, I have successfully raised my VO2 max by 30%. My resting HR has come down from 70 to now 45. (Calculate your VO2 Max with your resting HR)

This is very interesting, any other ways to increase it other than this? Or what are things that diminish it?

Hmm I think running and HIIT are probably the best ways to do this. Maybe living in high altitude as well. The key is beefing up and multiplying mitochondria. Sedentary lifestyles and smoking would probably reduce VO2. The body is pretty reactive and has built in biofeedback mechanisms to let it know to activate genes to produce necessary material. Being Sedentary and anything that will constrict capillaries probably will inhibit proper blood flow. It's all about the Frank Starling law.
